Silver Jubilee tree seat

April 2006 saw the completion of the splendid new circular seat around the Jubilee tree at the top of Wide Street. The original seat, installed as part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations in 1977, had fallen into disrepair and so the Parish Council agreed to take responsibility for providing a worthy replacement.

The new seat was designed and made for us by John Fitzpatrick from Hathern Forge and was installed by Steve Purvis and Chris Bond. We congratulate all those involved in this very successful project.
